Muso will not include GST in your artist payment unless you have flagged that your ABN is registered for GST on your Muso profile. Once flagged for GST, all future payments will automatically include GST.

How to add your ABN to your Muso profile:

Via Muso mobile app:

  1. Tap your profile orb in the bottom left corner on the lower menu bar

  2. View the 'about' box and tap Edit to update your profile

  3. Scroll down to tap 'Yes' to having an ABN and enter the Business name and ABN

  4. tap Save in the top right corner of the screen

Additional step to flag you are registered for GST (continued from step 3 above):

+ Scroll down further to select to confirm you're registered for GST then tap 'Save' in the top right corner of the screen

Via web browser/desktop:

If you have more than one profile in your Muso account, toggle between to select from the profile orb displayed in the bottom left corner of the screen and view your Muso profile page:

  1. Scroll to the profile name (displayed in bold white font) and click the purple 'Edit profile' button next to the profile name

  2. Scroll down to slide the bar right for Y if you have an ABN

  3. Enter the business name and ABN

  4. Click 'Save Changes'

Additional step to flag you are registered for GST (continued from step 3 above):

4. Enter the business name and ABN

5. Scroll down further and slide bar right to Y for being registered for GST

6. Click 'Save Changes'


Important Notes:

Having an ABN does not automatically register you for standard GST.

Before you register for standard GST, you need to have an Australian business number (ABN). You can get an ABN when you first register your business name or at a later time. Once you have an ABN, you can register for GST, if certain criteria are met.
